With coaches travelling across the globe, it is not a surprise that at times, we witness some lesser-known names going for huge bucks at an IPL auction. This happens mainly because some of the coaches, during one of their other assignments, would have keenly observed the skills of these cricketers. Daniel Vettori is the new Head Coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad. He is also the Head Coach of Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred 2023. Here, we take a look at two players from Daniel Vettori’s Birmingham Phoenix whom SRH might target for IPL 2024.

1) Adam Milne

It needs no mentioning that Adam Milne is one of the favourites of Daniel Vettori. In the IPL, while at RCB, Milne came first in the competition. Since then, the pacer has played under the former Kiwi legend in different teams.

SRH anyways needs a player of Milne’s profile. In IPL 2023, both Umran Malik and Kartik Tyagi looked rusty. They offer a very unique attribute and this is something a T20 XI needs always. Hence, as a backup, or maybe even as an upgrade, SRH could target Milne. His experience will also come in handy here.

2) Ben Duckett

Ben Duckett is one of the players from Daniel Vettori’s Birmingham Phoenix whom SRH might target for IPL 2024. SRH had a mostly right-handed batting attack last season. Also, they missed an overseas opener and hence, Harry Brook had to play in that role. Also considering SRH does not have a domestic keeper, it would be best to stack as many options as available in the overseas department.

Ben Duckett fits all these requirements. He is just starting to hit his peak and might just find IPL a great platform to take his career to the next level. Having seen him a lot, Vettori and co. could also target him for IPL 2024.
