Sunrisers Hyderabad will have to make some bold calls before the next season. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three bold decisions SRH could take before IPL 2026.
1) Release Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan is a young Indian wicket-keeper with a lot of potential. However, he is not being fully utilised at No.3. Moreover, he is also not in good form. Actually, SRH must back him for another season. However, SRH will be wary of upgrades available in the auctions. Therefore, they could be forced to release Ishan.
2) Replacing the skipper is one of the bold decisions SRH could take before IPL 2026
It is a massive call to ask Pat Cummins to step down. However, it needs to be noted that Pat has been poor with the ball. When the skills are not working out, captaincy usually does not matter. Abhishek Sharma could be given the armband or there are options such as Heinrich Klaasen, as well.
3) Release Mohammed Shami
It is hard to get a player with experience at auctions. However, Shami has been poor, and SRH needs the purse to look at other options. It will be a bold call because Shami is an experienced cricketer, and he could do well in another franchise.
