Ashes 2023: Australia Playing 11 for the fifth Test against England Prediction

Australia currently lead the series 2-1.

The Ashes 2023 has seen both England as well as Australia playing high-quality cricket and has kept everyone on their toes. it was Australia, who won the first two games, England made a staggering comeback in the third game and was all set to win the fourth game but unfortunately, rain washed out the final two days and resulted in the match getting drawn. It favoured Australia as they retained the Ashes and would be going back home with the trophy.

The focus now shifts towards the final match of the series which begins on 27th July. Australia would be under pressure coming into the last game, especially after their disappointing performances in the last two games. They would be hoping to make a roaring comeback and finish the series by the margin of 3-1.

Usman Khawaja will continue batting at the top as he has played some blistering knocks in this series and is expected to be there in the last game as well. But clouds are hovering over his opening partner David Warner. He has failed miserably in the series and it is likely that Australia might drop him.

With Australia likely to play both Mitchell Marsh as well Cameron Green, they might likely ask Travis Head to open the innings with Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith to be slotted at No.3 and No.4. The duo has been the backbone of the team and are expected to play a crucial role in the last match.

Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green will be followed by Alex Carey, who has made quite a few valuable contributions in the series which has proved to be the difference. Australia faced a lot of criticism in the last match for not playing spinner and therefore it is likely that Todd Murphy will be there in the team for the Oval Test.

The trio of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood are expected to retain their place in the team for the final Test. They have been on top of their game and would be hoping to deliver another memorable performance in the final match of the series
