An Open Letter to the RCB Management

The Royal Challengers Bangalore management has been under fire in the last few years. Although the team had a decent budget, the management failed to make the best use of it. The fans are unhappy and even the experts opine that RCB could have a tough time in IPL 2024. On that note, here, we take a look at an open letter to the RCB Management.

An open letter to the RCB management!

While some of the newly launched teams such as Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are not taking time, the RCB management is struggling to find its feet, despite so much experience. The fans hardly remember one auction when they were left completely satisfied. IPL is won as much on the auction table as it can be won on a cricket field. And RCB does not play on a kind cricket field.

Chinnaswamy Stadium is a constant. There is not much you can do about it. But, there are ways wherein you could try to suit your squad for it. When you crossed INR 20 Cr for Pat Cummins, almost every fan not only lost hope for the auctions but completely for the next season!

A team is always the sum of its parts! This is crucial for any team sport. However, RCB is still going behind the idea of individuals winning matches and these matches counting for a playoff spot. While a playoff spot can be attained, a trophy cannot arrive. And sometimes, even this playoff spot is not possible.

As long as the IPL stays, it will remain an Indian league. Indian core is what every team needs to focus on. The teams that have done this have inevitably won the competition. The likes of AB de Villiers and Rashid Khan deserve huge money but that is it. In the end, it is the Indian contingent that wins the trophy. For RCB, Virat Kohli has been the sole servant in the Indian group.

RCB has hardly spent well for Indian players. And when they do, more often than not, it is on the wrong players. For a team that has such a presence on social media, even 30 minutes spent on Twitter can give more knowledge than any form of scouting can provide.

In the end, all of it depends on how the team performs on the field. The fans are not very happy but that will change and they will have your back. But it is time that you do some things conventionally. You do not have to be different always. Do stuff simple and you are likely to hit the bull’s eye! Let’s hope it happens on the field in IPL 2024!
