1) Rilee Rossouw – 389 runs in 11 games at a strike rate of 174
In the current era, it is extremely difficult to get a good left-handed middle-order batter. Hence, someone like Rilee Rossouw could be very useful for a side.
He had a decent show in IPL 2024 with Punjab Kings. RCB might look to hire him at least as a backup middle-order batter. He would give that option which RCB has lacked in recent times.
2) Glenn Phillips – 252 runs in 9 games at a strike rate of 141
Glenn Phillips is one of the top performers from Lanka Premier League 2024 whom RCB can target for IPL 2025. It would be a no-brainer for RCB to target Glenn Phillips, who remained benched for IPL 2024.
After Dinesh Karthik‘s retirement, RCB needs a quality wicket-keeper who can also finish games with the bat. There are not many reliable domestic options available at the moment. In this regard, Phillips would be a top choice. He would also give RCB a brute hitter in the lower middle-order. If there is another keeper in the side, the Kiwi could also roll his arm over.
3) Wanindu Hasaranga – 15 wickets in 9 games at an economy of 8.6
It is difficult to survive without a quality leg-spinner, especially at a venue like the Chinnaswamy. Andy Flower is also a Head Coach who likes batting depth.
Hasaranga ticks the boxes for both these requirements. There are form and fitness issues but if he turns up, he is more likely to do well. Moreover, the Sri Lankan man has already played for the franchise and hence, he would not need much time to get used to the atmosphere.
