It was almost the main-event of day 1 at the WrestleMania 39 and as one of the fiercest rivalries that was in the making for a year eventually met a hallowed conclusion in the form of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn lifting the WWE Tag Team championship, putting an end to a 600 plus days reign of the Usos as the former champions.
Zayn and Jey Uso kickstarted the proceedings and initially despite an early salvo from Zayn, the defending champions soon came back to the game, turning the tide around. However, it was when Zayn tagged in Kevin Owens as he came steaming hot, flattening Jey Uso with a frog-splash and taking out Jimmy Uso convincingly.
A string of those starry moves that completely laid waste to the defending champions included the likes of an apron smash, a swanton bomb and Uso style frog splash that proved to be salt in the wound.

The battle continued as Zayn was taken out of the equation an the battle kept on rolling back and forth with torment on Kevin Owens continuing at the other end. Every time Kevin Owens came to the center there were pops and cheers all around and he didn’t disappoint either as he kept on hitting the Usos with one powerbomb after the other.
This was followed by a quick shuffle of momentum and eventually it was Owen’s Fisherman Buster that turned the pendulum for the final time in the game. Zayn landed three consecutive Helluva Kicks to Jey uso for the three count.
More importantly, the storyline was absolutely epic that left the WWE universe leaping forth in ecstasy. It was one of the finest matches on the night and received the highest rating from the fans and the experts. Here is what Twitter had to say about the blockbuster.
