2020 Summer transfer window turned out to be quite eventful even as expectations of huge spending by clubs were pretty low due to the pandemic. Many relatively smaller clubs such as Everton, Leeds United and Roma have been quite busy during this window while behemoths such as Barcelona and Real Madrid did not make any significant signings. Now it is time to look at five strongest squads in Europe after the closure of the summer transfer window

Note:- squads have been ranked as per the strength of their first eleven and bench strength

5. Juventus

New coach Andrea Pirlo promised a lot of new blood and has kept his word with the arrival of Weston McKennie, Dejan Kulusevski and Federico Chiesa on-loan from Fiorentina with an obligation to buy. Alvaro Morata was also signed for a big amount but his recent form has raised questions whether he is still worth the money. The Old Lady could line up in a number of formations this season due to the versatility of their forwards who are capable of interchanging positions. Their defense is as solid as ever with Demiral, De Ligt, Chiellini and Bonucci.

4. Paris Saint Germain

PSG began their transfer window with the announcement of a permanent deal for Mauro Icardi, who has enjoyed a good time at PSG so far. PSG will be hoping that he fills the big shoes of Edinson Cavani who has joined Manchester United on a free transfer. They have also added two goalkeepers to their squad, Sergio Rico from Sevilla and Alexandre Letellier from US Orleans. With the arrival of Moise Kean and Rafinha, their attack looks truly phenomenal and it will be difficult for any defense to stop them.  The only problem is their defense, which could struggle after the departure of the talisman Thiago Silva.

3. Liverpool

The Premier League defending champions added Portuguese winger Diogo Jota and Spanish midfield maestro Thiago Alcantara to their squad in this window. With Jota, Origi and Minamino, the champs have enough depth to their attack. Thiago Alcantara is very well experienced at controlling the tempo of the game and his passing range adds something new to the Reds’ midfield. Tsimikas was bought from Olympiakos as a cover to Andy Robertson. Central defense and goalkeeping is their only area of concern with Virgil Van Dijk finally showing signs of weakness and Adrian’s recurring blunders while covering for Alisson.

2. Manchester City

This squad has everything that a manager could ask for and Pep Guardiola will be in for a lot of criticism once again, if he fails to lift the coveted UCL trophy with this squad. City has the best playmaker in the world in Kevin de Bruyne and a lethal forward line which includes Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus. They went on to add winger Ferran Torres from Valencia and center backs Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias. Unlike last year, they have enough defensive cover and with Phil Foden fitting right into the squad, City will be hard to beat this season.

1. Bayern Munich

Well, this is no surprise as Bayern Munich outplayed every single opposition they faced in the Champions League on the way to a second treble. The intimidating pace with which they play could increase next season after they bought Leroy Sane from Manchester City and Douglas Costa joined them on-loan from Juventus. They have arguably the best goal keeper in the world and a perfect back-up in the form of Alexander Nubel. They have a world class player and an effective cover for all the positions in their formation. It is safe to say that they are once again heavy favorites to lift the Bundesliga as well as the Champions League.
