Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli are two of the greatest batters in cricket history. Both players carried the Indian cricket team on their shoulders during their prime. While Tendulkar has retired from all formats of international cricket, Kohli is still actively playing in all three forms of the game.
Around three years ago, most fans believed that Kohli would go on to break the all-time record of Sachin Tendulkar of 100 international centuries. However, Kohli has not scored a single ton since registering his 70th international hundred back in November 2019.
There has been a decline in Kohli’s form. It is not that he is not scoring runs, but the fans miss the way he used to absolutely dominate the bowlers in the past.
Fans often tend to compare Virat Kohli with Sachin Tendulkar because of his greatness. A Twitter user recently shared a meme, summing up why Tendulkar should be called a greater batter than Kohli. Back when Tendulkar was an active player, there were many world-class players.
The Twitter user posted the names of Muralitharan, McGrath, Shane Bond, Shane Warne, Brett Lee, Akhtar, Pollock, Wasim Akram, Ambrose, Vettori, Donald, and Waqar Younis in Sachin’s syllabus. In Virat’s syllabus, he named Steyn, Starc, Rabada, Broad, Lyon, Anderson, Boult, and Cummins.

Sachin Tendulkar opened up on comparisons with Virat Kohli earlier this year
Earlier this year, former Indian cricket team captain Sachin Tendulkar sat down for a chat with Graham Bensinger, where he was asked about comparisons between him and Virat Kohli. Without saying much, Sachin replied:
“How about having both of us in one team.”
There was a time when Sachin and Kohli used to play together for the Indian cricket team. They were members of the Indian squad that won the ICC Cricket World Cup on home soil in the year 2011.
