Twitter reacts as Moeen Ali is likely to miss CSK’s first game against KKR due to delay in Visa

IPL 2022 will start on March 26th with the game between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. Most teams are facing availability issues at the start of the tournament. CSK is no different and as per reports, Moeen Ali is set to miss the first game for the defending champions. In this article, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as Moeen Ali is likely to miss CSK’s first game against KKR.

Moeen Ali is likely to miss CSK’s first game against KKR

English all-rounder Moeen Ali was one of the retentions for CSK ahead of IPL 2022 Auctions. The player had a good run in IPL 2021 and added balance to the CSK squad. Considering he had also quit Test cricket, Moeen would have been free of a few international commitments. In line with this, CSK had retained the cricketer.

While most of the other CSK stars have reached the camp, Moeen is yet to arrive. He is still in England and is yet to leave for Mumbai due to a delay in his Visa. Hence, unless he reaches by Wednesday noon to CSK camp, Moeen cannot take part in the first game. This is because he will need to serve mandatory quarantine before interacting with the other members.

CSK is dependent on Moeen to increase the scoring rate in the middle-overs, apart from a few overs of off-spin. Now that Moeen is likely to miss a few games, the management will have to accordingly make changes in the playing XI. Hence, the likes of Mitchell Santner or M Theekshana could get a chance in the XI.

Twitter reacts to the news

Meanwhile, Twitter reacted to the reports that Moeen Ali could miss the first encounter. While the CSK fans felt it will be a massive blow, a few IPL fans blamed the BCCI and the management for the delay in the Visa process. Here are a few more reactions in this regard:
