Former Indian captain Virat Kohli doesn’t seem to get himself going in the longest format of the game despite showing character and temperament. The run machine clearly struggled to dictate the terms as far as red-ball cricket is concerned since 2019.
Although he played some impactful and valuable innings for the team, he failed to end his Test century drought. In fact, a lot was expected of him in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy series.
However, all those expectations turned into mere disappointments as he didn’t score even a single milestone in the series. The last time when Virat Kohli hit a Test century was back in 2019 against the Bangladesh cricket team.
Virat Kohli gets dismissed in an unfortunate manner in the Indore Test
Case in point, the star cricketer scored 22 runs in the first innings of the third Test against Australia in Indore. He tried to assess the conditions by playing more deliveries during his stay at the crease. However, as it turned out, he was trapped for a leg before wicket off Todd Murphy’s delivery.
Virat Kohli’s intention was to nudge the ball between the square leg and mid-wicket. However, while he tried to play the shot, he was beaten by the turn as he got hit on his pads in the first place.
Virat Kohli made his way back to the dressing room after scoring 22 runs, which was also the top score in the first innings for India as the hosts were bowled out for just 109 runs, which was their fourth-lowest total at home for the past 15 years.
In the second innings, Virat Kohli got off the mark on the very first ball he faced and his body language hinted that he would go on to succeed in the tough conditions. He scored 13 runs with the help of two fours before he was dismissed by Matthew Kuhnemann.
Virat Kohli fell prey to Matthew’s delivery after he tried to play the pull shot but ended up getting dismissed in an unfortunate manner.

Everytime he cannot be branded as unlucky . End of the day the figures speak for themselves. He has to score , else the end is near in red ball cricket.
