After sitting out in three games due to injury, Rohit Sharma’s hasn’t made a fruitful comeback in IPL 2020. On Thursday, in the qualifier 1 match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, Rohit Sharma got out leg before on a duck in the second over of the innings.
With that dismissal, Rohit Sharma holds an unwanted record of scoring the most number of ducks in IPL history. Rohit Sharma has now been dismissed on a duck for as many as 13 times in IPL. Previously, Harbhajan Sigh and Parthiv Patel held the record with 13 ducks each to their name.
Over the years, we have seen a lot of single-digit scores from the players in IPL. Poor-run of form didn’t allow them to get going.
In this article, we look 6 batsmen who got dismissed on a single-digit score the most in an IPL season:
1. Hanuma Vihari : 8 times in 2013 IPL
Hanuma Vihari made his debut for SRH in the 2013 edition of IPL. He made 17 appearances that season but failed to make an impact for the side. He was dismissed for as many as 8 times during that season. Averaging, 17.21, Vihari scored 271 runs in 17 games.
His only noteworthy performance came against Kings XI Punjab where he picked Chris Gayle’s wicket for just 1 run and scored 46 runs with the bat. Hanuma Vihari has played 24 matches in his IPL career, scoring 284 runs at an average of 14.20.
2. Gautam Gambhir : 8 times in 2014

3. Rohit Sharma : 8 times in 2017
Much like Gautam Gambhir, a similar story unfolded with Rohit Sharma in 2017 IPL. He endured a lean run in 2017 edition of the cash-rich league. Averaging just 23.78, Rohit Sharma had scored 333 runs in 17 matches. He got out on single digits in 8 games.
However, despite that Mumbai Indians won their third IPL title after beating Rising Pune Supergiant in the finals.
4. Prithvi Shaw : 8 times in 2020
After getting a sensational start in the tournament, Delhi Capitals are currently wobbling in the final leg of the tournament. One big reason has been lack of runs at the top of the order. Prithvi Shaw made a decent start in the tournament, however, runs dried up in the latter half of the tournament.
In his last six appearances in the ongoing tournament, his scores read: 0, 9, 10, 7, 0, 0. He has got out in single digits on 8 times in 2020 IPL. In 13 matches, Shaw has made 228 runs at an average of 17.53.

He got out in single digits on 9 occasions.
6. Dinesh Karthik : 9 times in IPL 2020
Dinesh Karthik led KKR in the initial half of the 2020 IPL. After a few dismal performances as a unit, he was found guilty of making wrong tactical decisions. Karthik wasn’t producing goods with the bat either. The Indian wicket-keeper handed over the captaincy to Eoin Morgan midway through the tournament to concentrate solely on his batting.
However, it didn’t change anything as far as his batting numbers were concerned. In 14 games, he scored just 169 runs at an average of 14.08. He got out in single digits in 9 games out of 14.
