Rohit Sharma has retired from Tests. It will be interesting to see who will replace him on the Test squad. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players who could replace Rohit Sharma in the Indian squad for the England Tour.
1) Shreyas Iyer
Rohit Sharma played in the middle order in Australia. KL Rahul is likely to be the opener. Hence, India might need a middle-order batter to replace Rohit. In this regard, Shreyas is the best choice for the Indian Team. His current form makes him a solid fit.
2) B Sai Sudharsan could replace Rohit Sharma in the squad for the England Tour
It is inevitable that Sai makes his Test debut for Team India. A technically compact cricketer, Sai has already played for his county side in England. He has also done well, and this experience must help him get a spot in the Indian Team. He will be a real asset for the team. Also, since his current form is great, he might even get a spot directly in the playing XI.
3) Riyan Parag
If not as an opener, he could get a middle-order role. He is someone India is looking at for a long-term role. Considering he bowls also, Gautam Gambhir could prefer to have someone like him in the team for the England Tour.
