WWE wrapped up its WrestleMania season weeks ago and is now marching towards its next Premium Live Event, WWE Backlash, set to take place on May 4 at the LDLC Arena in Décines-Charpieu in Lyon Metropolis, France. This will be the first edition of the show to take place among the rich lineage of France with the audience ready to welcome WWE into their home.
Moreover, with WWE gearing up to present its first PLE in France after producing multiple other shows in the past year, they would surely have some surprises planned to create memorable moments at WWE Backlash. This could majorly be in terms of the return of WWE superstars not seen in a while and brought back as surprise returns.
Here are 3 possibilities for WWE Superstars who could make their return at WWE Backlash France:
1. Maryse
WWE could delight the audience of France by bringing in a former WWE superstar who has some roots in their native land and the wife of the current WWE World tag team champion, The Miz. That is none other than Maryse. The former Divas Champion could be brought back in the corner of the Awesome Truth as part of their first title match against DIY that could be set for the show following the events of RAW this week.
2. Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins went on a hiatus following his two incredible bouts at WrestleMania 40 Saturday and Sunday, reportedly dealing with multiple injuries. Following his much-deserved break, Rollins could resurface back at WWE Backlash, announcing his intentions to go after the World Heavyweight Championship once again and rise to the top as the main attraction for Monday Night Rollins.
3. Brock Lesnar
WWE quietly distanced itself from Brock Lesnar following his name coming up in the Vince McMahon sex trafficking scandal. However, Lesnar’s name has been added back to the internal roster with multiple eastern eggs seen on the road to WrestleMania 40.
The Beast could finally make his return to WWE to confront his old rival and now champion, Cody Rhodes and set the tone for another chapter in their rivalry, this time with the Undisputed WWE title added to the mix.
