Musheer Khan was arguably India’s best player in the recent U19 World Cup. While he impressed with the bat at No.3, he also took some important wickets with his left-arm spin. He went unsold at the IPL 2024 Auctions but if teams get a chance to secure his signature now, they must go for it. He is a talented player and will be a valuable asset in the future. On that note, here, we take a look at three teams that can target Musheer Khan as a replacement signing if any injuries.
1) Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals have a strong batting line-up. They also have a good Indian batting core, comprising Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag.
However, there are not ready backups available in this regard. Hence, if there is any injury problem, the franchise must sign a player like Musheer.
2) Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB does not have too many talented Indian youngsters, especially in the batting department. Almost every squad has such players while the most talented Indian batters in RCB – Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar, are both above 30.
Also, the team would need additional left-arm spin options as they do not have established choices at the moment. Considering all these factors, they could sign Musheer Khan, who will add value to the side. As per reports, Tom Curran could be ruled out of IPL 2024 and this could be a chance for RCB.
3) Lucknow Super Giants
LSG is one of the teams that can target Musheer Khan as a replacement signing if any injuries. Ayush Badoni is a good player but he is yet to have his breakout season. Hence, it is good to have a backup for the Delhi cricketer.
Musheer Khan would be the ideal choice to have in this team. While he can bat anywhere in the batting order, his left-arm spin would also be useful for the team in Lucknow.
