It could be said that Australia currently is in a golden generation. They have won ICC events in the Test and T20I formats and will try hard to get a trophy in ODIs, as well. However, after the World Cup, we can expect many changes. The squad is ageing and there would be a few cricketers who might need to be replaced. On that note, here, we take a look at three Australian cricketers who could become ODI regulars right after the 2023 ODI World Cup.

1) Tim David

Australia will look to get more out of Tim David in the coming months. The likes of Marcus Stoinis have not been great recently in ODIs while the management must plan a backup for Glenn Maxwell.

In this regard, Tim David would be a great option for the team. He has got the technical ability to stay relevant in this format. More than that, he is likely to don the role of a finisher and his brute power might help him in that. If he can also develop his bowling, he would be a great asset to the team.

2) Tanveer Sangha

Tanveer Sangha is one of the Australian cricketers who could become ODI regulars right after the 2023 ODI World Cup. The young leg-spinner closely missed out on the World Cup squad.

That said, he is likely to get more opportunities after the event. Adam Zampa has been excellent but Australia will need to plan a successor for him. Zampa can focus more on the 2024 T20 World Cup and Tanveer can get a chance in ODIs.

3) Spencer Johnson

Australia will have to manage the workload for Mitchell Starc after the ODI World Cup. He might completely sit out of ODIs to focus on the 2024 T20 World Cup and the WTC.

This means that rising star Spencer Johnson could get his chances at the highest level. He certainly does have the skills to do well for Australia.
