Kirti Azad won the 1983 ODI World Cup with Team India. After his retirement, he was into active politics. His father is one of the former Chief Ministers of Bihar.
After stints at INC and BJP, Kirti Azad got a ticket from All India Trinamool Congress in West Bengal. It was a tough fight for him but he managed to win the election.
2) Yusuf Pathan – Baharampur
Yusuf Pathan is one of the former Indian cricketers who won in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. One of the surprising names to contest in the Lok Sabha Elections was Yusuf Pathan. The former India all-rounder had to shift has base from his birth pace in Baroda to West Bengal to start his political career.
Nevertheless, it was a fine start for him. On his election debut, he won a seat for the All India Trinamool Congress. The former World Cup-winning cricketer already announced that he would be constructing a sports facility in his constituency. It is a good news for the citizens.
