2 former cricketers you might not know are Head Coaches in the 2024 T20 World Cup

Usually, the Head Coaches of a team are the retired cricketers from that nation or from a different nation. On very rare occasions a professional coach gets to become the Head Coach of a nation. For instance, Mike Hesson is a recent example when he coached New Zealand a few years ago. In the 2024 T20 World Cup, we have many popular former cricketers donning the role of Head Coach. The likes of Rahul Dravid, Gary Kirsten and Darren Sammy are Head Coaches. Interestingly, some popular former cricketers are also donning the same role but for lesser-established teams. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two former cricketers you might not know are Head Coaches in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

1) Stuart Law – United States of America

Stuart Law is a former Australian cricketer. He played quite a few ODIs for his nation and was also a part of a Test match. For a long time, the USA Cricket Team had J Arun Kumar as the Head Coach. Stuart Law dons the role now.

Law has also been a part of the Indian Cricket League in the past. He represented the Chennai Superstars back then. As a Head Coach, he has also been at the helm of teams such as the West Indies and Afghanistan.

2) Tatenda Taibu – Papua New Guinea

Tatenda Taibu is one of the former cricketers you might not know are Head Coaches in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He was the face of Zimbabwe cricket back then. He was an extremely popular cricketer and was even a part of the IPL.

One of the youngest captains in the history of the game, he took an early retirement. He is now a Head Coach and he will be keen to a difference in the tournament for PNG.
