The road to WrestleMania XL is days away from reaching its final destination, as WWE’s premier event is set to go down at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on April 6 and 7. Among the stacked line-up, an interesting and high-stakes match will see the Undisputed WWE tag team titles defended in a 6-pack tag team ladder match on Night 1 of the show.
With 5 other teams gunning for the titles, currently held by Judgment Day members, Finn Balor and Damian Priest, let’s take a look at the chances of winning for all those teams slated to compete in the match:
1. New Catch Republic
The dominant duo of Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate have emerged as one of the most promising duos of this WWE era, known for their hard-hitting and physical style inside the ring. Moreover, they displayed an excellent showing at the WWE Elimination Chamber event last month, coming very close to dethroning Finn Balor and Damien Priest for the titles.
However, destiny might have wanted to make them wait to rise above some of the best tag teams on the Grandest Stage of them all. With their impressive track record and combined dominance, it puts New Catch Republic in our top spot of winning the ladder match at WrestleMania 40.
2. The Judgment Day
Despite a major threat looming to their tag team title reign, Finn Balor and Damien Priest could resort to the interference of their other teammates, JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio to outlast the other 5 teams. Their underhanded tactics and relatively brilliant antics put them in second place on this ranking list.
3. Awesome Truth
The classic duo of The Miz and R-Truth, reuniting after almost a decade are a major fan favorite going into the match. Having battled The Judgment Day the most, adding up to their heated tensions and weeks of animosity gives them an edge over the reigning champions and other teams, capturing the third spot in our rankings.
4. The New Day
The New Day members, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are possibly the most decorated teams in the match field with a combined 12 tag team titles to their faction’s name. The team’s experience, accolades, and functioning as a cohesive unit make them a good fit to clinch the 4th spot on the rankings list for winning the ladder match at WrestleMania XL.
5. #DIY
The spectacular tag team of Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa have made a remarkable impact as a unit during their days in NXT. However, they have yet to ascend to the same level on the main roster after reuniting a short while ago. With DIY’s popularity looking to reach the same heights as before and not being there at the moment, their chances of winning the Undisputed WWE tag titles are less among the rest of the teams involved.
6. A-Town Down Under
While the promising team of young upstarts, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller are slowly gaining momentum, they are still a long way from being considered a top-tier tag team in WWE. With A-Town Down Under beginning their reign as a team only a short while back, their chances to win the ladder match amongst the tag teams slated to compete are the lowest at the moment.
