WWE Royal Rumble 2023 Predictions: Will Cody Rhodes Return On The PPV?

Cody Rhodes is likely to return to WWE at the Royal Rumble 2023 premium live event. The American Nightmare made his shocking return to WWE at last year’s WrestleMania 38 show in Dallas. He showed up as Seth Rollins‘ mystery opponent and had a lengthy feud with the Visionary.

Rhodes and Rollins carried the RAW brand on their shoulders for months. The rivalry seemed to have ended at the Hell in a Cell premium live event, where the American Nightmare defeated the Visionary despite having an injury. Rhodes appeared on the subsequent episode of RAW, where Rollins attacked him and wrote him off TV.

Since then, Cody Rhodes has made guest appearances for the company, but he is yet to wrestle a match after the Hell in a Cell show. Many rumors have claimed that Rhodes could make his much-awaited return at the upcoming Royal Rumble show. The man himself has asserted that he has moved beyond Seth Rollins and aims to win the WWE world title soon.

Will Cody Rhodes return and win WWE Royal Rumble 2023?

The top two favorites to win the WWE Royal Rumble 2023 match in the men’s division are The Rock and Cody Rhodes. Both Superstars are not in WWE right now, but the rumor mills have claimed that one of the Superstars could return at the show and win the mega match to set up a WrestleMania match against Roman Reigns.

There have been some reports claiming that WWE could also book the fourth and final match of the Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins rivalry at WrestleMania 39. In that scenario, Rollins could cost Rhodes a shot at the world title by eliminating him from the Royal Rumble. Either way, Rhodes is likely to return on January 28 and start a WrestleMania feud.

It will be interesting to see whether WWE books him to fight for the world title or wrestle another match against Seth Rollins.
