WWE SmackDown Women’s champion Liv Morgan has shared her opinion on Ronda Rousey winning the Fatal Five-Way Elimination Match against Sonya Deville, Natalya, Xia Li and Lacey Evans and securing a title opportunity against her at WWE Extreme Rules on October 8th.
After the SmackDown episode ended today, the champ was interviewed backstage and was asked about her thoughts on defending the title against Rousey again. Her reply was that Rousey was in for a treat at Extreme Rules and she is looking forward to beating the former UFC superstar “flat on the mat.” She even mocked her for quitting MMA after she lost two fights.
Her excerpts from the interview: “I was impressed, and I actually love this for me because I think we are all so used to seeing Ronda Rousey quit after she loses twice. So, I think we are all in for a treat and I’m looking forward to beating her flat on the mat. And if anyone doubts me at this point, watch me.”
Will Liv Morgan complete a hat-trick of wins against Ronda Rousey?
The 28-year-old champion enjoyed the Fatal Five-way match from a VIP seat in the crowd, which saw Rousey submit both Natalya and Evans with the armbar and Deville submit Li. Ronda then made Deville tap via an ankle lock to win.

Most fans are not into Morgan’s run as the SD Women’s champion and frequently voice their opinions against her because she is seems unlikely to beat a former UFC champion and even her title win over Rousey was controversial one. But props to her resourcefulness for keeping the title on her shoulders till now, even beating Shayna Baszler, another former MMA fighter, along the way.
From being a small-town wrestling fan kid who was wrestling with her siblings in the backyard, to a mid-card wrestler on NXT, to being the Women’s champion, Liv’s journey has been unbelievable. As she has said in her interview, she still has some trick up her sleeve. As her entrance music says, we should Watch Her in the coming weeks.
