3 players born outside Australia but will represent Australia in Ashes 2023

While we have seen many foreign-born cricketers representing England and South Africa, in Australia’s case, it is not that much. That said, in the upcoming Ashes, the visitors will have at least three foreign-born players in the squad. All these cricketers will have a vital role to play if the Aussies have to defend the Ashes. 1) Usman Khawaja – Pakistan

Usman Khawaja is an extremely important part of the setup for Australia. The Islamabad-born southpaw has been in cracking form and will likely play all the matches on the tour for Australia.

David Warner is not in great touch at the moment. There is a vulnerability here and in this regard, it becomes important for Usman to do well in every game.

2) Marnus Labuschagne – South Africa

Marnus Labuschagne is one of the players born outside Australia but will represent Australia in Ashes 2023. One of the best batters in the format right now, Marnus was actually born in South Africa.

The player is currently preparing for Ashes 2023 by playing in the County. Operating at No.3, Marnus will have a huge task on his shoulders to control the batting innings. His form could as well be the deciding factor for the Aussies in Ashes 2023.

3) Matt Renshaw – England

Matt Renshaw was born in England and later, his family moved to New Zealand and then to Australia. Renshaw‘s recent matches have not been great but these games were in difficult conditions for him in India.

With Warner struggling for runs, Renshaw could get some chances in Ashes 2023 as the opener. If he can do well, considering his age, it won’t be a surprise if he gets a long run. However, it is a difficult task against the in-form English side and will be a good challenge for the batter.
