“Winning and losing is law of nature, we can’t do anything about it,” Pakistan head coach Saqlain Mushtaq says players and coaches can only try, asks media to pray

Pakistan lost the third T20I against England by a big margin only a day after beating them by 10 wickets

The head coach of Pakistan national cricket team, Saqlain Mushtaq, has said that winning and losing is law of nature and he or the Pakistan players can’t do anything about it, other than trying.

Pakistan, after winning the second T20I against England by 10 wickets on Thursday, got thumped the very next day as England made a couple of changes in their XI and went with two fast bowlers in the form of Mark Wood and Reece Topley in the third T20I.

England batted first in the third T20I as well, as they had done in the second game, but they scored 20 more runs than what they had scored on Thursday and gave Pakistan a target of 222, rather than 200 and it ultimately proved to be quite a bit out of reach for Pakistan.

When Saqlain Mushtaq came out to address the press conference after Pakistan’s defeat and he was asked why there was such a significant difference in the level of Pakistan’s performances within a space of 24 hours, Saqlain said “ye kudrat ka nizam hai (it’s just the law of nature)”.

After every winter, there is summer, after every rainy season, there is spring: Saqlain Mushtaq

Saqlain further stated that after every day, there is night, after every winter, there is summer and after every rainy season, there is spring. The similar law applies to sports too and wins and losses are just part and parcel, which have to be accepted.

Saqlain Mushtaq admitted whoever is associated with Pakistan wants the Pakistan team to win all the cricket matches they play and the players and the coaching staff try their best, they intend to win all the games, but it’s not possible. Saqlain asked media and fans to pray for consistent performances of the Pakistan cricket team.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
