“Who’s Going To Find The Ball?”- Twitter Reacts As Pat Cummins Hits A 6, Sending The Ball To A Road In Galle

The first match of the ICC World Test Championship series between the Australian cricket team and the Sri Lankan cricket team is underway right now in Galle. The islanders scored 212 runs in their first innings yesterday. Now, the Australian cricket team has taken the first-innings lead, with captain Pat Cummins putting up an impressive show with the bat.

Talking about the match between the two nations first, a half-century from wicket-keeper batter Niroshan Dickwella helped the Sri Lankan cricket team score 212 runs in their first innings. Nathan Lyon picked up a five-wicket haul, while leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson supported him with a three-wicket haul.

Describing the difference between bowling on Australian pitches and subcontinental wickets, Lyon said:

“It’s about me asking different questions in different variations. Whereas in Australia I will probably stick to my strength which is my stock ball and trust in that. When you come over here you have about three or four different variations that you are able to trust and know you’re going to get some assistance off the wickets.”

By the time stumps were called on Day 1, the Sri Lankan cricket team picked up three wickets of the Australian cricket team. Steve Smith, David Warner, and Marnus Labuschagne were back in the dressing room. Travis Head lost his wicket early on Day 2, but Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green hit the fifties to help Australia take the lead.

At stumps on Day 2, the Australian cricket team had 313 runs on the board for the loss of eight wickets. Skipper Pat Cummins is not out in the middle, having scored 26 runs off 16 balls. He has smashed one four and three sixes in his knock thus far. Nathan Lyon is in the middle with him with eight runs to his name.
