Over the years, WWE has been known to travel across the world hosting its premium live events outside its home country of the United States of America in various countries like Europe, China, Australia, and India. Fans in India always keep wondering when will WWE host a PPV in India?
Considered to have the second largest fan base after the United States, India is known to be a highly strategic market for the WWE being involved through various ventures to bring high-quality content and unique initiatives to engage its highly tremendous fan base and keep them engaged with the product.
One of their most successful ventures in the Indian market was an exclusive live televised event ‘WWE Superstar Spectacle’ showcasing some of the top recruits from India stepping in the ring with other WWE Superstars with the show drawing close to 20 million Indian viewers.

There have been very early internal talks recently among the WWE management about potentially doing a PPV show in India or Australia according to @XeroNews as revealed on his Twitter account.
Has a WWE PPV ever happened in India before?
WWE has previously held live events in India on a number of occasions. The first time Indian fans witness the bright lights of an actually WWE live event was back in 1996 witnessing stars like Bret Hart, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels.
Following that, WWE made their return to India in 2002 as a part of the 3 City WWE RAW tour in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. After not hosting a live event since then, WWE decided to bring the action back in 2016 to New Delhi for a two-day live event and one-day Supershow in 2017 with the WWE Universe in India witnessing stars like Triple H, Kane, Roman Reigns, Big Show, Bray Wyatt to name a few. All of the live shows have drawn close to thousands of fans each time.

Apart from WWE live events, India has also been graced by Superstar visits like Sheamus, Charlotte Flair, and Braun Strowman on promotional tours.
Despite talks being only in the very early stages and looking at the involvement of fans in India with the WWE product, one thing can be said for sure is that a WWE PPV show held in the country would attract a huge audience who have been eagerly awaiting to watch their favorite WWE Superstars live in action.
