“Virat Kohli does not have the kind of talent that Rohit Sharma has,” Imam ul Haq passes huge statement on two Indian icons

Imam ul Haq also says that by watching Rohit Sharma's batting, he understood the true meaning of timing

The Pakistani opening batsman Imam ul Haq is of the view that the former Indian captain Virat Kohli doesn’t have the kind of batting talent that the current Indian captain Rohit Sharma has.

According to Imam ul Haq, he can say that with absolute conviction because he has seen both the players bat in front of him. He fields at a backward point for Pakistan and his view is completely different from what people see on TV. From what he has seen watching both Virat and Rohit, it seems to him that Rohit has way more time in his hand to play his shots.

Rohit Sharma bats as if a replay is going on: Imam ul Haq

Imam further went on to say that the first time he understood what’s the real meaning of timing was when he saw Rohit Sharma bat live in front of him. The way Rohit was playing his shots, it was as if he was batting in slow motion.

Imam ul Haq has played against Rohit in three One Day Internationals so far, two in the Asia Cup and one in the World Cup, and Rohit has scored over 50 in all three games. In the World Cup game in 2019, Rohit actually scored 140 which ended up as the match-defining innings for India.

Imam was in an exclusive interview with SAMAA TV where he was asked about Virat and Rohit and whom, he thinks, is a better batsman between the two. Imam had no hesitation in saying while Virat is also a great player, what Rohit can do is unbelievable.

Imam said that Rohit can change the whole complexion of the game in seconds because once he gets his eye in, he can hit the ball out of the ground whenever he wants.

It’s hard to argue against Imam’s assessment of Rohit’s hitting ability because Rohit is the only batsman in the history of ODI cricket to have three double hundreds to his name.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
