Although he started the tournament by leaking a lot of runs, Umran Malik has surely turned the tables in recent games. He topped it off with a solid show against Punjab Kings. The Jammu & Kashmir pacer bowled the final over in the first innings and managed to collect three wickets without giving any runs. Umran Malik was one of the finds of last season. He bowled at sheer pace and many saw a future Indian star in the player. However, a few doubted if he can control his lines and lengths. After Sunrisers Hyderabad retained him, many considered it to be a bold move. However, Umran has repaid the faith so far.

In the last few games, he has been bowling exceptionally well. Despite leaking a few runs, the pacer has not dropped his pace and is bowling with the same consistency. In recent matches, he has taken some important wickets like that of Shreyas Iyer against KKR.

Against Punjab Kings on Sunday, he finished with figures of 4-1-28-4. It was a terrific show by the youngster who managed to bowl a maiden in the final over of the innings. He also collected three wickets (Odean Smith, Rahul Chahar and Vaibhav Arora) in that over. Umran helped his team restrict PBKS to just 151 and that is likely to be an easy score for them to chase.
