IPL 2022 has started with the game between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. Batting first, CSK could not get off to a good start and the team needed a vintage MS Dhoni-finish to put up a decent score on the board. In this article, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as MS Dhoni begins his IPL 2022 campaign with a fifty.
MS Dhoni begins his IPL 2022 campaign with a fifty
Batting first, CSK faced a massive blow in the first over when Ruturaj Gaikwad edged one to the slips. Later, the likes of Devon Conway also got out quickly leaving CSK in big trouble. Robin Uthappa tried his best but got out to a great stumping by Sheldon Jackson. Ambati Rayudu and Shivam Dube also could not add a lot of runs to the scoreboard.
It was down to the experienced duo of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja to get CSK to a good score. Despite the initial struggle, the duo could help CSK to post 131 runs, a total that seemed unreachable at one point. The major credit must go to MS Dhoni, who struck a fifty of 38 deliveries to give a push to the score at the end. The former CSK captain’s knock included seven boundaries and a huge six.
Twitter reacts to MSD’s smashing fifty
In the last few years, MS Dhoni has not been in great form with the bat. Coming into IPL 2021, not many had expectations from MS Dhoni – the batter. However, as he has done throughout his career, MSD once again surprised the viewers with a stunning display of skills against KKR. Although he struggled against the spinners, he more than made it up in the end against the pacers. CSK and MS Dhoni fans were ecstatic with the player’s display. Here are a few tweets in this regard:

Never seen a bigger and more impactful player whenever a collapse strikes the team. Disaster management skills are at their absolute best. Pressure makes him stronger! Doing this again and again for more than 15 years is unbelievable. MS Dhoni is inevitable.
