Twitter Reacts As Rohit Sharma Gets Ruled Out Of South Africa Tests

BCCI has announced that Indian opener Rohit Sharma will miss the upcoming Test series against South Africa. Hamstring injury is the reason for the ruling out of the vice-captain. In this article, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as Rohit Sharma gets ruled out of the South Africa Tests.

Rohit Sharma gets ruled out of South Africa Tests

During a training session in Mumbai ahead of the three-match series against South Africa, Rohit Sharma sustained a left hamstring injury. Hence, he has been ruled out of the upcoming red-ball series against the Proteas.

Rohit Sharma is the man in form for Team India when it comes to Test cricket. He had top-scored for India against England a few months ago. Rohit was rested for the home series against New Zealand. For the South Africa Test tournament, Rohit was also given the vice-captaincy. Hence, he was supposed to play a crucial role.

Especially with Shubman Gill also injured, India will now have to field KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal at the top of the order. While KL Rahul returned to the XI only recently, Mayank’s form this year has not been great, although he did make a few runs against the Kiwis at home. Hence, it will be a big blow for Team India, especially since the middle-order has not been firing. Priyank Panchal will replace Rohit Sharma in the team.

Twitter reacts to the news

Recently, Rohit Sharma replaced Virat Kohli as the ODI skipper of the team. Since then, there have been rumours regarding the sour relationship between the players. Hence, with Rohit missing out on the Test series in which Virat will be the captain, Twitter went into a frenzy with opinions of diverse nature coming out from all corners. Here is a look at a few reactions:
