Twitter reacts as India U19 captain Yash Dhull scores hundred on Ranji trophy debut

Yash Dhull was drafted into Delhi Ranji trophy squad straightaway after U19 World Cup

The India U19 skipper Yash Dhull is one of the most talked about young players in India at the moment, not just because India won the U19 World Cup under his captaincy, but also the way he himself batted in the tournament and the kind of composure he showed.

Today, the young man took it a step further and scored a hundred while playing for Delhi in his very first game in the Ranji trophy and that too against the quality attack of Tamil Nadu.

When Yash Dhull returned from the Caribbean after winning the U19 World Cup, it was not certain if he was going to be in the Ranji trophy squad of Delhi and people thought he would perhaps be given a little bit of break before being drafted into senior level cricket.

But, Delhi Disctrict Cricket Association (DDCA) decided that they would have Dhull in the Ranji trophy squad of Delhi straightaway and they didn’t just pick him in the squad, they also decided to open the batting with him.

Yash Dhull counter-attacked Tamil Nadu after Delhi lost early wickets

Dhull opened the batting with Dhruv Shorey against Tamil Nadu today and found the team in a bit of a tricky situation as they lost a couple of wickets first up, but Dhull didn’t go into his shell and rather counter-punched with a flurry of boundaries.

Tamil Nadu had attacking fields as the ball was doing a bit early on, but Dhull, whenever the bowlers erred a little bit with their length or line, was quick to pounce on, as he hit a total of 16 boundaries on his way to the hundred.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
