India clinched an unlikely and historic win at the Lord’s in the second game of the ongoing series against England. The men in blue were struggling at the start of the Day’s play but thanks to an inspired fightback, India has gone one up in the series. Bowlers script a memorable win for Team India
After Rishabh Pant got out early on Day 5, India was staring at yet another overseas defeat. However, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah stitched a partnership of 89* runs which eventually helped the side put up a competitive 272-run target on the board.
It was almost two full sessions for the Englishmen to bat, and all the signs were pointing towards a draw. However, Virat Kohli and his boys had other ideas in mind. Bumrah and Shami continued the momentum by picking the openers for a duck. The likes of Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj contributed with timely wickets as England were bundled out for just 120. The victory was also sweet as the game was high on emotions.
