Twitter Reacts As Bumrah And Jofra Archer Are Set To Play For Mumbai Indians From IPL 2023

Mumbai Indians have signed Jofra Archer for INR 8 Cr at IPL 2022 Mega-Auctions. With this, Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah will feature in the same XI. Considering both are top pacers of this era, it is an exciting partnership that the five-time champions have set up. In this article, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as Bumrah and Jofra Archer are set to play for Mumbai Indians.

Bumrah and Jofra Archer set to play for Mumbai Indians

English pacer Jofra Archer will not take part in IPL 2022. In the initial registrations for IPL 2022 Mega-Auctions, Jofra Archer’s name did not feature. However, in the shortlist that BCCI announced before the auctions, it came to light that Archer had registered for the event.

It was surprising considering Archer is nursing an injury at the moment. He missed IPL 2021 and other important events such as the T20 World Cup and the Ashes. There is still no clarity as to when he would return to the field. However, it is confirmed that he won’t take part in IPL 2022.

Mumbai Indians had been saving money throughout the auctions and it is now clear that it was for Jofra. From IPL 2023, they will have a top bowling line-up including Bumrah and the Englishman. For IPL 2022, though, other pacers whom Mumbai have signed are Basil Thampi and Jaydev Unadkat.

Twitter reacts to MI’s latest signing

Twitter was naturally excited at the prospect of witnessing Bumrah and Jofra play for the same team. Although that will not happen in 2022, the wait is still worth it because of the stature of both the cricketers. Along with his terrific bowling skills, Jofra also adds stability at No.8. Hence, signing him for INR 8 Cr can be considered a steal. In the section below, we take a look at how Twitter reacted to MI’s recent signing:
