Mumbai Indians will need to work a lot on their tactics on the auction table. It has been one of the main reasons for their failures in the recent past. They could consider some of the cricketers who did well in the recent World Cup. 1) Anrich Nortje
After a disappointing IPL 2024, Anrich Nortje had a good run in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Especially in the group stage, Nortje was very hard to face.
It needs to be noted that Nortje now plays for MI New York. He could very well be one of the picks for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025 Auctions. With him and Bumrah bowling tandem, multiple phases of the game would be covered.
2) Saurabh Netravalkar
Saurabh Netravalkar is one of the brilliant bowlers from the 2024 T20 WC whom Mumbai Indians can target for IPL 2025. Mumbai Indians usually have at least two left-arm overseas seamers in the squad. This time around, they could have a local boy, albeit someone who plays for a different nation.
Saurabh did well in the World Cup with his control at the start of the innings. He took some crucial wickets and helped his side get good starts. Considering he hails from Mumbai, MI could consider signing the cricketer.
3) Adam Zampa
It is surprising that Mumbai Indians have not given attention to their spin department in recent years. That might have to change in the coming seasons.
For that to happen, they need to hire a leader for the spin attack. Considering the other good options are already at other teams, MI could target someone like Adam Zampa. He has experience and would give a lot of control in the middle overs.
