Lucknow Super Giants performed decently well in the IPL 2022 edition. The Ahmedabad-based franchise, led by KL Rahul qualified for the playoffs by finishing third on the points table.
The newly-introduced franchise won as many as nine games and lost five games in their previous campaign, collecting 18 points from the league stage at a Net Run Rate of +0.251.
However, they failed to extend their dominance in the Eliminator clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore LSG’s defeat in the crucial game meant the end of the road for them in the last season.

LSG bolstered their squad by recruiting West Indies power-hitter Nicholas Pooran at the IPL 2023 mini-auction for INR 16 crores. The Ahmedabad-based franchise also acquired the services of the most experienced IPL spinner, Amit Mishra, for a base price of Rs 50 Lakh.
Meanwhile, veteran pacer Jaydev Unadkat will be kick-starting a new chapter at Lucknow Super Giants. The southpaw will be looking forward to bringing the best out of himself in the IPL 2023 season.
