Chasing 190, despite the loss of an early wicket, Gujarat Titans were in the game. However, in the final few overs, both Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill found it hard to finish the match. Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep Singh bowled well to take the game to the last over. Gill got out and Hardik Pandya was run-out, which diminished the chances for the Titans. Hence, at one point, the team needed 12 runs off the last two balls for the victory.
Rahul Tewatia, who had faced just one ball until then, scored two sixes to win the game for his side. Very few expected the all-rounder to do the job and hence, it was almost a shock when he did it. That said, it is not the first time that Rahul has done it. In IPL 2020, against the same opposition, Rahul had pulled off a similar inning.

Involved in the game, Hardik was disappointed in the last ball of the penultimate over after David Miller took a single. His anger towards Miller increased after the latter failed to connect and this led to his runout. The Gujarat skipper was visibly angry and he took a while to get to the dugout.
