Samson was dropped from the second ODI because of the team combination. He was benched for Deepak Hooda. This decision was criticised by many as they feel that the keeper batter should’ve given longer rope and if the team were desperate for 6th bowling option, they should’ve rested Suryakumar Yadav.

Samson was unfortunate for Samson to miss as he played decently in the first game, scoring 36 runs and helping his team post a total of over 300 runs.

Popular journalist calls selection process as worst among top teams

As Sanju Samson was rested by Team India for the second ODI, a popular journalist highlighted India’s selection process. Calling it worse, he said that they are purposely ignoring a few talented players.

“India’s selection process has to be one of the worst among top teams and I’m sure even Indian fans would agree to that. There’s something seriously wrong within the circles and a few really talented players are purposely ignored. There’s no way Sanju was getting dropped.”
