“The Nigerian Giant Chose Him”- MVP Explains Why Omos Vs Seth Rollins Is Happening At WWE Backlash

MVP, Omos’ manager, has explained why the match between his client and Seth Rollins is happening at Backlash. MVP was on RAW Talk, after the latest episode of RAW, and he gave a reason for this fresh match-up.

After WrestleMania 39, both Omos and Rollins didn’t have much going on. No fresh rivalries, no title chases. Rollins had beaten Logan Paul and Omos was beaten by Brock Lesnar. WWE confirmed Rollins vs Omos for Backlash at San Juan, Puerto Rico, last week.

While speaking to Byron Saxton on RAW Talk, MVP revealed that The Nigerian Giant chose The Visionary as his Backlash opponent. He said, “Seth Freakin’ Rollins has had an amazing career, from The Architect to The Visionary to the man he is today…He is one of the most impressive superstars in the game today, and that’s precisely why The Nigerian Giant chose him.” (0:14 – 0:50)

The two superstars have never faced each other one-on-one but they’ve had encounters during some multi-man matches. They were in the 2022 Money In the Bank match and Rollins stomped Omos on the announcers table once in January.

Seth Rollins Comments After WWE Announces His Match Against Omos

Rollins had taken to Instagram and had requested his Puerto Rican fans to do something in his insta-story. He has asked them to sing. “Time to sing PR,” Rollins wrote.

On the latest RAW, the two had an in-ring staredown for the first time. As the segment ended, Seth was smiling while the audience were singing his theme song. After MVP’s explanation, Omos himself had a warning for Rollins. He said, “After Backlash, Seth Freakin’ Rollins will not be the one laughing.” (1:01 – 1:08) Omos had re-tweeted a post about him and Rollins as well.

Smack Talk co-host Rick Ucchino pointed out that Rollins might have a “holding pattern” going on. In the WWE Draft that’s coming up very soon, Rollins will possibly move to SmackDown, he said. So maybe he needs a big win to hype up his move.
