“The Brand Of Chennai And Dhoni”- A Twitter User Shares Interesting Stat About Viewership For CSK Matches In IPL 2022

The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League started exactly a month ago in Mumbai with a battle between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. In the last 30 days, fans have witnessed many epic matches in IPL 2022. However, fans would have read the reports that the TV viewership for this year’s IPL has declined compared to the last two seasons.

Still, the matches of the Chennai Super Kings team have drawn a huge number of fans to their mobile, computer, laptop and TV screens. According to a statistic shared by a famous CSK fan on Twitter, the Chennai Super Kings matches have received over 8 million audience in three different games.

The first came against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, where the viewership on Disney+ Hotstar peaked at 8.2 million. Next, when the Chennai Super Kings took on the Mumbai Indians, the peak of the viewership number on the live streaming platform was 8.3 million.

Yesterday evening, when CSK locked horns with Punjab Kings, the match received a peak viewership of 8.1 million even on a Monday evening. Here’s what the Twitter user wrote while sharing the statistic:

“83 Lakhs, 82 Lakhs, 81 Lakhs are the viewership in hotstar for CSK match against MI, RCB, PBKS – the brand of Chennai and Dhoni.”

Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni have the highest fan-following in IPL 2022

The craze among fans to see MS Dhoni play is probably at the highest level in IPL 2022 because the wicket-keeper batter has returned to form after struggling for two years in the league. Also, some fans think that IPL 2022 could be Dhoni’s last season in the IPL.

It will be interesting to see if the Chennai Super Kings can successfully defend their championship in IPL 2022. Given that CSK have won only two matches in IPL 2022 so far, it seems tough for them to make it to the playoffs in this year’s IPL season.
