On an emotional day for India, the men’s hockey team started the day off with an exciting 5-4 win against Germany to win the Bronze medal. Captain Manpreet Singh’s men made a tremendous comeback after being 3-1 down, the team’s never-give-up attitude was what kept them going which ended the country’s 41-year medal drought in the sport, adding their 12th hockey medal to their feat. Team India’s coach, Graham Reid said that his side had made a lot of sacrifices over the last two years to win an Olympic medal and that this win meant a lot to his team and the country.

Women on the brink of making history

The women’s hockey team will be facing Great Britain with a bronze medal on the line. The Indian team shocked the world by beating Australia in the quarter-finals, no one saw it coming, especially after the kind of start they had initially in the tournament. India narrowly lost to Argentina in the semi-finals, but all eyes will be on them as they will be gunning for bronze and create history.
