Pankaj Singh announces retirement from all formats of the game

The year 2020 proved to be a shocking one for the Indian Cricket fraternity. The sudden retirement of MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina saddened the atmosphere as the world didn’t expect it so soon. The duo of Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni holds the perfect example of authentic friendship.

Both of them retired from International cricket on the same day. Now both will retire from IPL on the same day too. Raina stated that he would also retire if Mahi doesn’t play IPL next year.

The retirement trend is still continuously going in the year 2021 also. Even though big names have not announced retirement, other cricketers have made an excellent Cricketing career.

Vinay Kumar, Ashok Dinda, Naman Ojha, Yusuf Pathan are some of the Indian stars who bid adieu this year. However, one more name has been added to this list. The Indian pacer Pankaj Singh has also announced his retirement.

The right-arm medium-fast bowler announced his retirement from all forms of the game on 10 July 2021. He managed to play a total of 2 Tests and one ODI match for India.

Pankaj may not have performed well for India. But when it comes to the domestic circuit, he had some excellent records by his name. In December 2018, he became the first seam bowler to take 400 wickets in the Ranji Trophy.

He made his Test debut for India against England on 27 July 2014. The only ODI which he played for India was in the year 2010 against Sri Lanka.

Pankaj Singh played for two franchises in his IPL career

The pacer also got the chance to feature in the Indian Premier League. He was part of the RCB and RR side during his early days. He grabbed a total of 11 wickets during his IPL career.
