3 former players whom Gautam Gambhir could target for KKR before IPL 2024

Gautam Gambhir is back at Kolkata Knight Riders as the Mentor of the franchise. While he would want to bring in his philosophies, he might also bring back some of his old players. On that note, here, we take a look at three former players whom Gautam Gambhir could target for KKR before IPL 2024.

1) Manish Pandey (Trade Window or Auctions)

Manish Pandey was signed up by Gautam Gambhir when he became the Mentor at LSG. However, the move did not work back then.

Manish can be used as a powerplay basher against pace bowling. If not, he can also be in the squad as a backup Indian batter. Gautam knows the strengths of Manish and for the player, as well, a return to KKR could help his career. He is likely to be released by Delhi Capitals and if that happens, Gautam can target him in the auctions.

2) Rahul Tripathi (Trade Window or Auctions)

Rahul Tripathi is one of the former players whom Gautam Gambhir could target for KKR before IPL 2024. The Maharashtra cricketer was not a part of the era when Gautam Gambhir was at the helm for KKR. However, he is a player who embodies the KKR philosophy and Gautam might want him back.

KKR needs an aggressive Indian opener. Rahul is someone who can do that and he is also good against spin. These factors could help him get a move to KKR either in the trade window or in the auctions.

3) Pat Cummins (Auctions)

Pat Cummins was starting out in his career when KKR had won two trophies back then. In fact, he was a part of the franchise when KKR won the title in 2014.

Right now, Cummins is a World Cup-winning skipper. His demand is high and as a player, he has developed more variations that can suit the T20 game. As a batter, too, he can contribute well. Therefore, Gautam could have him on the agenda.
