Team India is currently involved in a warm-up game against Leicestershire. This match is ahead of the one-off Test against England from July 1st. In the practice game, Cheteshwar Pujara turned up for both teams. Naturally, this gave way to many jokes on the internet. Usually, no hard and fast rules are followed in a practice game. It is not counted in FC stats and hence, we could see some unusual incidents happening. Even before the game started, it was a surprise to see the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Prasidh Krishna playing for Leicestershire. Even Cheteshwar Pujara was in the team for the English club. In the first innings, he batted for them and was clean bowled by Mohammed Shami on zero.

When India batted again in the second innings, it was a surprise to see Pujara play for the Indian Team. He made 22 runs from 53 deliveries before getting out to R Sai Kishore. It was a rare occurrence. The management’s intention was perfect but a few viewers were confused.

After doing well in the County Championship, Pujara is certain of starting at No.3 for Team India. He has the experience, is in form and hence, he is likely to get a spot although he was dropped for the last Test series.
