“Should we start panicking over Harshal Patel now?” Indian fans on Twitter concerned about Harshal Patel’s form as he concedes 49 runs in practice match

Harshal Patel has been proving to be very expensive in the death overs since his comeback from injury

While the Indian batting is looking in very good shape and form ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup, the Indian bowling is definitely struggling at this point and although India won a warm-up match against Western Australia XI earlier today, one of India’s first choice bowlers Harshal Patel again proved to be very expensive.

India batted first in the warm-up game today and posted 152 on the board on a tricky pitch. Suryakumar Yadav scored a half-century off 35 balls, while Hardik Pandya chipped in with a useful contribution of 27.

India’s bowling started well in defense of the total, as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh did a lot of damage with the new ball. Western Australia was 4 for 12 at one stage in the game and the game was almost done and dusted at that stage itself.

Yuzvendra Chahal later got a couple of wickets too which further added to Western Australia’s misery, but India’s main concern was the way Harshal Patel bowled toward the end of the innings. Death bowling is the reason India has lost a few games recently and Harshal went for plenty of runs in the death overs again.

Harshal Patel also adds to India’s batting depth as he is a handy no. 8 batsman

Apart from the fact that he has regularly bowled in the death overs for India since the last T20 World Cup, another reason why India is picking Harshal is that he can bat too, and adds to India’s batting depth. But, his form is worrying the Indian fans now.

Many Indian fans reacted on Twitter today after Harshal finished with bowling figures of 49 for 1 in his 4 overs. He was, in fact, the most expensive bowler of the practice match from both sides, and the Indian fans were not amused about it at all.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
