“Rohit Sharma always has plan B if things go wrong,” Mohammed Siraj hails the demeanour of new Indian captain

Rohit Sharma will captain India in an overseas test match for the first time in England

The Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has come up with strong words of praise for his new Indian captain Rohit Sharma who is now in charge of the Indian cricket team not just in the shorter formats of the game, but also in test matches cricket.

According to Mohammed Siraj, who was talking to News 18 CricketNext, Rohit Sharma is the kind of captain who understands the psyche of a player very well and whenever the bowler’s own plans are not working on the ground or the opposition team is on top, Rohit always has a plan B to get things back on track.

Siraj has been struggling with his form of late and he didn’t have a great time in IPL recently which cost him his place in the Indian T20I squad as well, as the young fast bowler Umran Malik was preferred ahead of Siraj by the selectors for the T20I series against South Africa.

Mohammed Siraj has been retained in the Indian test side for England tour

Siraj has, however, been able to keep his place in the Indian test side intact and there are possibilities that he would be in India’s playing XI for the last test match of the incomplete test series against England which started last year and is currently led 2-1 by India.

Although it was Virat Kohli who had captained India in the four test matches of the series last year, the series will be completed with Rohit being at the helm of the Indian side in the fifth test match. Rohit, since the time he has taken over the full-time captaincy of India, has not finished on the losing side even once in any format of the game.

The Indian fans are very hopeful that India would be able to finish the test series in England with a triumph under the new skipper again and wouldn’t allow England to come back and level the series 2-2.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
