Mumbai Indians are preparing for their next game against their arch-rivals, Chennai Super Kings. The highly-anticipated fixture will kick off at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 8, Saturday.

Meanwhile, in the latest development, Mumbai Indians have recruited the services of Riley Meredith for INR 1.5 crore as a replacement for the injured Jhye Richardson.

Mumbai Indians sign Riley Meredith for INR 1.5 crore

The five-time IPL champions made the right move to sign the talented paceman who is capable of keeping the batters in check and taking crucial wickets when it matters the most.

For the record, Riley Meredith failed to attract the bidders as he went unsold in the IPL 2023 mini-auction held in Kochi in late December. For the unversed, Riley Meredith represented Punjab Kings earlier in the IPL.

Interestingly, he previously played for the five-time IPL champions in IPL 2022 season. The right-arm fast bowler played as many as eight games for the MI franchise wherein he took eight wickets to his name.

Earlier, he also represented Punjab Kings when he was roped in by a huge amount of Rs 8 crore. The 26-year-old pacer will be joining Mumbai Indians ahead of the clash against Chennai Super Kings. Riley Meredith has by far played 13 games in the IPL wherein he took 12 wickets to his name.
