Real Madrid Clarifies Their Stance On Benzema and Carvajal: Reports

Real Madrid transfer news: Going by the reports of the Spanish newspaper, ABC and Managingmadrid.com, Real Madrid will shortly be announcing the extension of Karim Benzema’s contract until the summer of 2023. Benzema played a crucial role in spearheading France’s incursions in the recently concluded Euro Cup.

Despite the world champions crashing out early in the tournament, it was the astute Madrid striker whose timely interventions helped France to stay afloat with a good offensive. At the ripe age of 33, Benzema has been Real Madrid’s pennant-bearer of excellence ever since his arrival at the Spanish capital in 2009.

Ever since Ronaldo departed to Juventus, Benzema has been Real’s best bet to convert their chances with Vinicius Jr occasionally coming to the fore. As per the report, the French marksman wants to stay in the Spanish capital but will not shy away from leaving in case if he fails to leave a categorical impact on the club’s fabric for the next two years.

After Real parting ways with their skipper, Sergio Ramos, Benzema has been given the role of the vice-captain and will most likely be the captain of the side on many more occasions than Marcelo who has been awarded the captaincy.

The last season saw Real going trophyless almost after an entire decade and the end of the season was marked with a lot of unwanted cacophony with Zidane, Ramos and Varane bidding goodbye to the club.

Other Real Madrid transfer news:

Madrid has also announced the extension of Dani Carvajal’s contract that was all set to end in 2022. The Spanish footballer will be staying at Santiago Bernabeu until the summer of 2025 where he will be turning 32, as per the latest indenture.

Despite injury playing a major spoilsport in Carvajal’s presence on the right, it is needless to say that a fit Carvajal can be an absolute rock in the rearguard.  He will be eagerly hoping that the return of Antonio Pintus can help him stay healthy throughout the season in order to make a fruitful impact.

With the departure of Varane and Ramos at the same turn of the screw, Carvajal will have to play an industrious role for the Madrid rearguard in order to keep the young defence stirred up and sealed to the very core if Madrid will have to look forward to a trophy.

Also, another report by La Sexta’s Jose Luis Sanchez states that Real Madrid has no intentions of selling Martin Odegaard this summer. However, they have also stated that in case if Odegaard can bring a good offer with him, they may rake their brains a bit.

Going by the words of the Spanish press last week, Odegaard has expressed strong intentions of leaving the club with Arsenal already inquiring about a possible move.

According to the same reports, Odegaard wants more game time and he is skeptical of the fact whether staying at the Spanish capital can bring him his desire. However, Carlo Ancelotti believes that Odegaard is too valuable of a player to be allowed to go.
