Pro Kabaddi League 2022 Start Date: When Will PKL 9 Start?

Ever since the Pro Kabaddi League 2022 auction ended, there is only one question in the minds of the kabaddi fans – When will PKL 9 Start? It is the ninth edition of the tournament, and it promises to be the best one, with 12 teams participating in the competition.

The 12 teams which are a part of the PKL this year are the Telugu Titans, Puneri Paltan, U Mumba, Gujarat Giants, Haryana Steelers, Tamil Thalaivas, Bengaluru Bulls, Patna Pirates, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Dabang Delhi KC, Bengal Warriors and UP Yoddhas. Last year, Dabang Delhi KC won their maiden Pro Kabaddi League championship by defeating Bengal Warriors in the final.

Fans expect a new team to dominate the Pro Kabaddi League this year because there have been some massive changes in the squads. The biggest one being that former Bengaluru Bulls captain Pawan Sehrawat has now moved to the Tamil Thalaivas. Similarly, former U Mumba skipper Fazel Atrachali is now a member of the Puneri Paltan team.

Pro Kabaddi League Commissioner reveals when will PKL 9 start

In a recent media release, Anupam Goswami, Head – Sports Leagues, Mashal Sports and League Commissioner, vivo Pro Kabaddi League said that PKL 9 will start on October 7. The fans will be back in the stadiums this year as three cities, namely Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru will host the matches. Here’s what Anupam Goswami had to say:

“Mashal Sports started the journey of vivo Pro Kabaddi League with a vision of taking the indigenous sport of kabaddi to the world of contemporary and upcoming generations of sports fans”

The date for PKL 9 Final is yet to be announced, but the press release from the organisers states that the final match will happen in mid-December. It will be exciting to see which team comes out on top in the ninth edition of the world’s biggest kabaddi league.
