Predicting CSK’s four foreign players for the first match of IPL 2020

Chennai Super Kings will begin their campaign against Mumbai Indians on 19th September in Abu Dhabi. The Super Kings had lost to Mumbai in IPL 2019 final by just one run. MS Dhoni and co. will look to avenge their defeat and begin the season on a winning note.

MS Dhoni will make his return to cricket for the first time since the ICC World Cup 2019. Unfortunately, he will not have two of his most experienced Indian players Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh for IPL 2020. However, he still has a solid bunch of players.

Talking about the team’s foreign department, Sam Curran and Josh Hazlewood will not be available for the first game, but CSK will look to make the most out of the available resources and here are the four foreigners who are expected to be a part of the CSK playing XI against Mumbai Indians.

Dwayne Bravo

DJ Bravo has landed in the UAE and is fresh off the Caribbean Premier League title win. He played a huge role in Trinbago Knight Riders’ win. Bravo also won the Abu Dhabi T10 League last year and will be key to CSK’s success in the UAE.

Faf du Plessis

With Suresh Raina not available, Faf du Plessis will have the responsibility of bringing his experience to the fore and shouldering the Chennai batting order. Faf will probably open the innings for CSK.

Shane Watson

Shane Watson will be Faf du Plessis’ opening partner and the Australian player has become a T20 specialist. Hence, CSK will expect him to bat well in the season opener.

Imran Tahir

The fourth player will be a toss-up between Imran Tahir and Lungi Ngidi. Since Tahir was the Purple Cap winner in IPL 2019, he will probably start ahead of Ngidi. Also, the pitch in the UAE will support his bowling style.

Vinay

Vinay Chhabria is a cricket and WWE enthusiast who supports Roman Reigns and Gujarat Titans. He has been following cricket for the last 15 years and WWE since 2016.
