The three-time winners Patna Pirates had a fine beginning to the PKL season 8 campaign. They emerged victorious against a tough Haryana Steelers side in a hard-fought encounter by sealing a 42-39 win. Monu Goyat starred for the Pirates by collecting 15 raid points to help his side get over the line.
On the other hand, UP Yoddha didn’t have the best of starts to their PKL 2021 journey, as they suffered a defeat in their opening game. They were crushed 38-33 by the defending champions Bengal Warriors.
