Chennai Super Kings lost their recent game to Punjab Kings by a small margin. If they had arrested the leakage of runs a few overs ago, they could have easily won the game. Their next outing will be a tough one as they will need to take on LSG at their home ground. Here, we take a look at one bold decision CSK must take for their next game against LSG in Lucknow.
One bold decision for CSK against LSG
So far, CSK has used Ambati Rayudu and Akash Singh as the Impact Players when the team is bowling first and batting first, respectively. While Akash’s arrival is working, the same is not happening with Ambati Rayudu. The veteran has failed to score consistently and this is affecting the team. Instead, the team could now try to use Shivam Dube in this role instead of Rayudu.
Dube is anyways not bowling and he is also not a great asset on the field. Instead, the team could have someone like Prashant Solanki in the squad. The young leg-spinner would be a good option to have in the middle-overs. Maheesh Theekshana is having a tough tournament and having an extra option in the spin department could be useful for the team. Anyways, at the EKANA Stadium, an extra spinner is desired for the XI. Dube can anyways come on when he is needed to bat.
CSK would need the injured players to be available soon
Meanwhile, there are a number of cricketers in CSK who are injured. The list includes Ben Stokes, Deepak Chahar and Simarjeet Singh.
The team would like to have them in the squad at the earliest. Especially Chahar is needed as his arrival would give the team an edge in the powerplay. This combined with Akash Singh would make the team pick some wickets at the start and then the spinners would come on.
