The ICC WTC final is around the corner. Australia and India will lock horns in the summit clash from the 7th to the 11th June at the Oval England. It’ll be an important game for both teams and both would be eyeing their maiden title.
With just a few days remaining ahead of the final, Ricky Ponting named his Australian XI for the WTC final. He backed David Warner and Usman Khawaja to open the innings at the oval against India. The two will be vital for the team’s chances.

Marnus Labuschagne along with Steve Smith were the two batters that Ricky Ponting picked at No.3 and No.4 respectively in the Australian team. There were no surprises as Travis Head, Cameron Green and Alex Carey will be the middle-order batters in his team.
Nathan Lyon will be the spinner according to Ricky Ponting in the Australian XI whereas he picked Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc as two frontline pacers in the team. What was surprising was he left Josh Hazlewood due to injury concerns and picked Scot Boland in his place.
